Racist yob jailed for outburst at Northamptonshire police constable
Magistrates put 36-year-old behind bars for "deliberate attack"
Magistrates jailed a 36-year-old yob who yelled racist abuse at a police constable.
Police were in the process of arresting James Doran when he turned on the officers.
Doran, of Queen Eleanor Road, Northampton, pleaded not guilty last September to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress during the incident in Kettering in November 2019.
But Doran was convicted at a summary trial last month in front of magistrates who ruled the offence was racially aggravated and “a deliberate attack on a public servant carrying out public duties” and sentenced him to 12 weeks in prison.
