Rushden s mayor has been re-elected for the following year.

Cllr Melanie Coleman took office as mayor last September, taking over from Cllr Cesare Marinaro who had completed 16 months as mayor rather than the usual 12 due to Covid.

At the annual general meeting of Rushden Town Council last night (Tuesday), Cllr Coleman was re-elected as town mayor for the civic year 2021/22.

Her consort for the year will be Cllr David Coleman.

The deputy mayor for the forthcoming year will be Cllr Sarah Peacock, who will have Alan Peacock as her consort.

The mayor’s main chosen charities for the year will be the Royal British Legion (Rushden) Branch and Rowan Gate Primary School Rushden.
