Here’s a bit of background on the Green Party’s grassroots Weekley Hall Wood campaign

It’s the story of the night here as THREE Greens win in Clover Hill ward

The trio are running an incredible grass roots campaign to try to save threatened Weekley Hall Wood and the electorate have rewarded them for it with three seats, beating Lesley Thurland, former Conservative deputy leader of Kettering Borough Council.

There was a huge cheer in the hall as the results were announced. It’s the Greens first (and second and third) seat on the new council. The Lib Dems are yet to win any.
