A broken down truck has led to delays to bin collections in Earls Barton.

Some residents are still waiting for their bins to be collected from last Friday (May 15) despite putting them out on subsequent days in the hope they will be emptied.

Wellingborough Norse, which collects the borough's waste on behalf of Wellingborough Council, has said the delay is due to a broken down truck but they are working hard to catch up on any missed collections.

A spokesman for Wellingborough Council said: "A waste collection truck unfortunately broke down on Friday (May 15) which meant that there was an unforeseen delay in collections in Earls Barton.

"The waste team are now working hard to collect all outstanding bins, and ask residents to present their bins each morning to be emptied.

"If the bin is not emptied on that day, please leave this out the next day for crews.

"We apologise for the delay in collections and the team will be collecting all outstanding bins as quickly as possible.

"Residents can report missed collections on the council’s website or by calling Wellingborough Norse."
