East Northants Council worked with town councils in Rushden, Higham Ferrers, Thrapston and Irthlingborough on individual apps which provide a central resource for businesses, retailers, local services, charities and community groups to promote and support their town.

Each free-to-download app promotes independent traders, tourism and the visitor economy, and enables users for find all the local businesses in each town, contact details, offers and promotions, opening times and lots more.

Cllr Steven North, Leader of East Northamptonshire Council, said: “It has been great to work with four of our town councils on this project and use partnership working to further help high streets across the district bounce back from the pandemic.

“Ensuring we support small businesses in East Northants has been a priority for us and the apps will provide an extra, easy marketing tool for business owners to use, as well as everyone who wants to shop local.”

The apps have been funded through East Northamptonshire Council’s Recovery Through Enterprise funding and have been set up by UK Town Apps in conjunction with each council.

To download each app, visit your usual app store and search for each town.
