Work taking place at Wellingborough's Embankment to bring a 'swathe of flowers and colour'
Work is ongoing at the Embankment in Wellingborough to help boost local biodiversity as well as enhance its ‘visual appeal’.
Anyone walking or driving past the Embankment this week may have seen work being carried out by North Northants Council.
It includes taking out the old flower beds and putting in new ones at the popular beauty spot.
Wildflower seeds will then be planted in the new beds in the hope of bringing some colour to the area.

A spokesman for North Northants Council said: “Gardening work currently taking place at The Embankment in Wellingborough involves the sowing of wildflower seeds.
"These will create a colourful and attractive display to enhance the immediate area with a swathe of flowers and colour.
"Additionally, the wildflowers will provide valuable support for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, moths and other insects.
"These species rely on wildflower habitats as an important and nutritious source of food so the work will help boost local biodiversity as well as visual appeal.”
