Women's 'walk and talk' safety events coming to Rushden

Women are invited to two ‘walk and talk’ events taking place in Rushden in the coming months.

Northamptonshire Police are inviting women aged 18 and over who live or work in East Northamptonshire to join the women's walk and talk events.

A spokesman said: “These informal walks provide an opportunity to speak directly with female police officers about any locations where you feel unsafe and share ideas on how safety can be improved.”

The Rushden events are taking place at the Co-op in Grangeway at 10.30am on Sunday, June 28 and at AFC Rushden & Diamonds at 3pm on Sunday, September 13.

It is a chance to walk with female police officers in your local area and discuss concerns about safety and vulnerable locations.

It is hoped that the free events will help inform future policing priorities and patrols.

Northamptonshire Police are committed to tackling violence against women and girls and say they want to hear directly from local women about their experiences and concerns.
