The public's huge support for Wicksteed Park shows no sign of stopping, with more than £100,000 raised so far and the Kettering park opening up volunteering sessions.
In a Facebook post yesterday (Thursday), Wicksteed Park said: "We have been overwhelmed by the number of people offering up their time to help us maintain and preserve the park, so we are pleased to confirm that our first group volunteering sessions will begin next week."
Oliver Wicksteed, chairman of Wicksteed Charitable Trust, has said that the park alone without any rides or attractions costs in excess of £110,000 every month.
Since the news that the park's operating company, Wicksteed Park Limited, has gone into administration, the trust has been appealing for donations to support the park. This morning (Friday), Wicksteed Park said: "All you amazing fundraisers out there have just broken the £100,000 barrier!
"Today's total (including gift aid) is £102,205.
"On behalf of everyone who loves the park, thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to help."
If you're interested in volunteering to help Wicksteed Park, the first sessions will be next week on Tuesday (June 23), Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
