Children from a Kettering nursery are going on a bear hunt and they hope they will catch a big one - a huge load of cash for charity Comic Relief.

Angels Nurser,y in London Road, will be putting on a bear hunt trail around several parts of the town to encourage their little ones to venture out and about on their daily exercise.

Theresa Collyer, manager of Angels Nursery, said: "We're encouraging our parents to sponsor the children and make donations to Comic Relief.

"The children have been really affected by the lockdown and now that the weather is getting better we thought it would be a good idea to give them something special to do as part of their daily exercise.

"We always celebrate Comic Relief so this year I thought we'd go bigger and better. We'd love the community around us to join in our bear hunt and donate to the charity if they want to."

Based on the famous We're Going on a Bear Hunt children's picture book, around 100 posters - featuring a famous bear with two big furry ears and two big googly eyes - will be placed at child height to make them easier to spot.

Theresa added: "It's something fun that we can do. We're near the end of lockdown and we're hoping for a beautiful day."
