Wellingborough pub closes with immediate effect after just 18 months in the town

Ale Hub opened in April 2023, hoping to entice Wellingborough drinkers with a ‘wet-led’ philosophy instead of opting to also serve food. Bosses believed it was one of the pub’s standout features and key attractions, with a host of craft beers and cocktail options.
Unfortunately the strategy doesn’t seem to have worked out, as today it announced on social media that the pub would no longer be trading, ending its tenure in the town after just 561 days.

When contacted by the Northants Telegraph Connor McDiarmid, director of Ale Hub, said it was ‘just one of those things’, and declined to speak further about the closure. Its manager, Morgan Anniwell, also declined to comment.
Commenters on the Facebook post have offered their condolences and surprise at the news.
One said: “We are gutted. Such a shame for the town to be losing a great venue.”

The pub in Farm Road is part of a wider company which has locations in and around the Birmingham area.
Information about the Wellingborough location has already been removed from the company’s website.
