Firefighters and staff from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service volunteered their time on Saturday at a Covid secure charity “drive through” charity car wash and coffee morning.
The event at Wellingborough Fire Station in Irthlingborough Road was a huge success, raising £1,400 for two charities.

Visitors also enjoyed a takeaway coffee and a cake as an extra treat before they left.
Crew Commander Ronnie Sherratt, organiser for the event, was delighted with the turn out; and said: “The cancellation of many fundraising events during the pandemic has caused a significant income loss to many charities.
"That’s why we wanted to get behind a couple of charities close to our hearts and set up the car wash as soon as we were able to.
