Paul, 48, who used to work in security at the Swansgate Shopping Centre, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in January.
He has been travelling to Germany for treatment which is helping to ‘control’ the advanced tonsil cancer.
But to cover the cost of every trip, Paul’s family and friends have been raising money with the latest fundraiser held at the Swansgate Shopping Centre on Saturday (October 10).
Paul’s wife Melissa said: “We raised an incredible £2,346.55 for Paul and our family and every single prize had sold out by 2pm.
"It was such a lovely amazing day.
"We met lots of lovely people, had some wonderful conversations and were so happy to see the regulars returning to our stall.
"It means so much that our community continues to come together for our family.
"We were especially touched to hear people asking when we’ll be back next and by those who donated simply because they wanted to support us.
"This was our fourth fundraiser in a row to raise more than £2,000.
"We made so many hampers and seeing them all go to happy winners was wonderful.
“The support keeps me going and helps me stay strong for my family when they need me most.”
Melissa is so grateful to everyone who supported them on the day, adding: “A huge thank you to Swansgate Shopping Centre for welcoming us back and to all the local shops for their generosity and support.
"I’m so grateful to my family and friends who supported me on the day, to my beautiful cousin Kyra for singing for us and to the amazing Follow the Smile charity for joining us and supporting us throughout the day.
"Thank you, too, to everyone who donated, bought tickets or helped in any way.”
Next week, Paul and Melissa will be travelling to Germany for his microwave ablation procedure.
The treatment uses microwave energy to heat and destroy targeted tumour tissue.
Melissa said: “This is the next step in his treatment and we’re hoping it will help give us more precious time together as a family.
"We’re just so incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us. Your kindness means more than we can say.”
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so via the family’s fundraising page here.
