Wellingborough care home residents spreading Christmas cheer across the generations

Residents of a Wellingborough care home have joined together to spread Christmas joy to their community.

Four Season’s Park House Care Home clients have been collecting donations of food and clothing items for United Reformed Church’s Home-Start charity.

Team members at Park House delivered the donations to the church so they can be distributed to those in need over the Christmas period.

Amanda Robinson, home manager, said: “The Park House family really wanted to give back to the community here in Wellingborough and spread some happiness during these difficult times.

"We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our team, family members and local businesses."

URC administrator, Mrs Lawson, said: “Thank you to all at Park House Care Home for their donations which will make such a big difference to our charity Home-Start and all those we support.”

The home’s festive charity drive doesn’t stop there. Residents are now asking for donations for Christmas gifts for Northampton General Hospital’s children’s ward.

Resident John Furnell added: "We are so pleased to be able to help out, especially as everyone in Wellingborough has been so kind to us over these past months, when it’s been more important than ever to stay connected to people in our community.”
