Wellingborough bakery crowned county's best in national awards

The Little Bakery of Happiness has been crowned Northamptonshire’s Best Bakery in the 2020 National Bakery Awards.

The craft gluten-free bakery based at Nene Court Shopping Village on The Embankment in Wellingborough is celebrating after proving itself at a county level.

Open to all bakeries in the UK (retail and wholesale), the National Bakery Awards celebrate the great work of bakeries up and down the country, with county winners being picked from all entries by a judging panel of industry experts.

The Little Bakery of Happiness, along with all other county winners, will be heading to London on March 11 for the National Bakery Awards grand final - where the county awards will be handed out and the regional winners and overall best bakery of 2020 will be revealed.

Vicky Robertson, owner and founder of The Little Bakery of Happiness, said: “I’m proud as punch that our little bakery has been crowned the best in the county and I’m still pinching myself.

"There are some really terrific bakeries in Northamptonshire and so to be crowned the best in our county is a real honour.”

The Little Bakery of Happiness produces small batch sweet and savoury treats for its own walk-in bakery counter at Nene Court and also for coffee shops, restaurants and catering outlets across the county.

It also supplies local farm shops and delis and is an official supplier to Silverstone Circuits.

The National Bakery Awards county winner award adds to a number of others the bakery has won over the last few years, which include the British Pie Awards, Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards, Free From Food Awards, Great Taste Awards and Good Choice! Quality Food Awards.
