Vote for your Corby community heroes as Spirit of Corby Awards 2024 polls open

Voting has now opened for this year’s Spirit of Corby Awards – and it’s time for you to have your say.

The Spirit of Corby awards are a celebration of the people of Corby who go above and beyond to inspire and help their community and town.

They are a chance for people in Corby to honour the unsung heroes of the community.

Leader of Corby Town Council, Cllr Mark Pengelly, said: “Thank You to everyone in Corby who took the time to make a nomination. With thanks to our judges, we now have shortlists of people and groups who have made an outstanding contribution to life in the town.

“We now kindly ask residents to make their selections in each category. In November we are looking forward to hosting another brilliant night which honours and celebrates the best of our special town. Our heartfelt thanks go to the businesses who have pledged their support to the Spirit of Corby through sponsorship.”

This year Corby Town Council has received nominations in nine categories which are: Club Spirit, Community Spirit, Creative Spirit, Educational Spirit, Health and Wellbeing Award, Public Sector Award, Volunteer Spirit, Young Spirit and Youth Organisation Award.

The Environmental Spirit Award will be awarded to the overall winner of the Town Council’s Garden Competition that has recently been independently judged. The Town Council will decide on a further two awards – the Living Legend and Special Award.

People can vote as of 8am on Monday, October 14, through to Friday, November 1, at 11.45pm.

Alternatively, votes can be cast in person with a paper form – a voting station can be found at the Corby Library in the Cube during its opening hours.

Once all the votes are received, verified and counted; an awards ceremony night will be held in the town in November.
