‘Vibrant performances’ by 300 young dancers taking part in SHAPE dance show in Corby

An annual dance show at Corby Core Theatre has showcased a ‘fantastic year of dance and community engagement’, as hundreds of children got involved at the 2025 show.

Over one weekend, four shows brought together up to 300 young dancers who each played their part in exciting routines inspired by themes such as Moana, High School Musical, and Back to the 80s.

Playing to packed houses, the shows went off without a hitch, reflecting the dedication, effort and hard work from the SHAPE students and their dance teachers, supported by parents and carers.

Cllr. Martin Griffiths, leader of North Northamptonshire Council, said: “I congratulate all the children, young people, and our leisure colleagues for another brilliant performance.

"What stands out is not only the talent on stage, but the dedication shown week after week in classes. SHAPE Dance is a shining example of how movement and physical activity can boost confidence, creativity, and community spirit in North Northamptonshire.”

SHAPE Dance is part of North Northamptonshire Council’s leisure and physical activity programmes, with sessions for attendees from four-years-old up to adults and offer tap, ballet and modern.

Sessions take place through the week in Beanfield Community Centre, Oakley Vale Community Centre, Priors Hall Community Centre, West Glebe Pavilion, and Lodge Park Sports Centre.

Each show concluded with a festive Christmas finale, and the council says the annual shows at the Corby Core Theatre are ‘a testament to months of dedication, teamwork, and the positive impact of regular physical activity on wellbeing.’
