UPDATE: Kettering Covid test centres re-open after snow closure

Kettering's Covid test centres have re-opened this afternoon after they were forced to close because of snow and ice.

Kettering's London Road test centre re-opened to the public at 12.30pm after a delay of four-and-a-half hours.

The test centre at Kettering Conference Centre has also re-opened with dozens of cars queuing to get into the drive-in facility.

One person who had tried to get to the Thurston Drive centre site said it was 'pandemonium' with traffic backing up.

One Kettering resident, whose husband had tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday, had booked a Covid test online and secured a spot this morning (Monday).

But she was then informed by text that the appointment was cancelled.

Earlier this morning when the centres were closed the keyworker said: "It's ridiculous. I need a test.

"They want us to do the right thing but we can't get a test - even on foot."
