Three Sywell school friends nicknamed 'The Flying Funders' have presented a cheque to their favourite museum after they learnt of its funding plight during lockdown.

Harry Matthews and twins Rowan and Amber Felgate, who attend the village school often watch the planes as they zoom overhead from nearby Sywell Aerodrome.

When Air Scout Harry, 10, who would like to be a fighter pilot, read about the Sywell Aviation Museum losing money due to its enforced closure he decided to help.

Harry asked his school friends to join in his fundraising exploits, selling souvenir mugs and notebooks sponsored by his parents firm Moulton Park-based Addsion Print eventually making £1,500 for the cause.

Ben Brown from Sywell Aviation Museum said: "We are so touched that Harry, Amber and Rohan worked so hard and gave up their spare time to keep us going and raised such an incredible sum. It is very humbling that they think so much of our little museum.

"Thanks too to your parents who should be very proud of you all and the good folk at Addison Print."

The trio were treated to a VIP tour of the Sywell facility - chauffeured to the museum in a vintage Jeep called Audrey where the pals delivered the cheque in style, after which they had a tour of the hangars, museum and Canberra aircraft cockpit before being treated to a goodie bag.
