STORM DENNIS: A4500 closed from M1 towards Northampton

Flooding from Storm Dennis has closed the A4500 from junction 16 of the M1 heading towards Northampton.

PC Lee from Northamptonshire Police’s safer roads team Tweeted photos of the road closure showing the standing water.

Northants was hit by heavy rainfall yesterday (Saturday) and over night just a week after Storm Ciara.

Many parts of the UK are flooded because the ground was waterlogged following last weeks storm.

PC Lee said the road closure would also affect those wanting to turn right out of Kislingbury or going up Sandy Lane.
