Serious incident on road near Corby village - police and fire service at scene

A country lane near Corby has been cordoned off since the early hours following an incident on the edge of Rockingham village.

Villagers woke to find a police car blocking the Rockingham to Cottingham Road (the B670) with pedestrians, cyclists and all vehicles stopped from using the route.

Two fire engines are on the scene and a blue forensics tent has been erected for forensics teams investigation work.

Police have prevented people using the route

A villager said: "It's a burnt out car. The road has been closed since the early hours."

Another villager said: "It was closed since the early hours. It's not very nice."
