An investigation has been launched after a man was grabbed by the neck and punched in the face, leaving him in a serious condition in hospital.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was in Cedar Road at about 7pm yesterday (Monday, October 7) when he was grabbed and punched in the head – causing him to fall to the floor.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: “Detectives investigating the serious assault of a man in his 20s would like to hear from anyone who may have captured the incident on dash-cam footage.

“Between 7pm and 7.30pm, the victim was grabbed around the neck and punched to the head, causing him to fall to the floor. He remains in a serious condition in hospital.”

A 41-year-old man from Kettering has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody.
