See how Rushden 'rainbow' family has been dressing up during lockdown

The Skinner family is a colourful bunch and they've been cheering people up with their creative photoshoots

This family has been getting creative to bring some colour into people's lives during lockdown.

The Skinner family from Rushden is looking picture perfect in a series of photos taken of them wearing brightly coloured outfits with matching props.

Their first picture was taken on April 23, but the online family album has proved so popular that they've carried on.

Mum Jemima came up with the idea after seeing a few posts on Instagram and thought it would be fun for the children, especially with the rainbow theme.

And with such a good reaction on Instagram, they're not planning to stop anytime soon.

Jemima said: "Everyone loved it, we started on week five of lockdown, kept getting texts and Facebook messages nagging me to put the next pictures up.

"Some said it made their day and was the only thing they were looking forward to."

Each day one of their children chooses a colour and they dress up in it, using items from around the house.

It takes them about an hour to get dressed and set up for each individual shoot.

Jemima said: "Even I was surprised at how many of the colours each of us had, the only improvisation was gold day, we did buy two items to help."

The family wore red, white and blue for a special photo to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day, and have several ideas in the pipeline for future photoshoots.

Jemima says she only started this on a whim, but the whole family has loved being involved and she is hoping to print out the photos to make a lockdown memory for the children.
