Uniforms have been getting increasingly more expensive as schools specify branded items, such as blazers, trousers, and skirts, that can only be bought from an official supplier.
We have worked out what it would cost parents to buy one of each compulsory school uniform item that can only be bought from a nominated supplier.
For some schools, this includes items that are 'optional', like a jumper or skirt, but if a pupil wanted to wear the item it has to be from the supplier.
Schools may soon have to change their uniform requirements because a law proposed by Labour MP for Weaver Vale, Mike Amersbury, is being supported by the Government.
He is calling for schools to only be able to specify items of a uniform, and not their style.

9. Kettering Buccleuch Academy, minimum spend 53 for boys, 70 for girls
KBA have a school blazer and from 2019, all new year 7 girls who want to wear a skirt will have to purchase a tartan one from the school shop for between 17 to 21. There is no requirement from trousers to be from the school shop, which is why the cost of uniform is more for girls who want to wear a skirt. For branded PE kit, KBA only require one top which is 9. The cost of the main uniform is at least 44 for boys and 61 for girls when including the jumper, which if worn, must be from the school supplier. | jpimedia

10. Sir Christopher Hatton School, minimum spend 63.01
At Sir Christopher Hatton School, pupils need a school blazer, tie and jumpers if students want to wear one. The PE kit is a top, shorts and socks. The minimum parents would spend on one item each would be 63.01. | jpimedia

11. Kingswood Secondary Academy, minimum spend 59
At Kingswood, pupils need to be in a blazer with a school badge. Parents can choose to buy the blazer for 26.50 to 32 or they can buy a badge to sew on for 8.50, so we used this in our minimum spend total. Pupils also need a tie and if they want to wear a jumper, which is compulsory without a blazer, it needs to be the academy one, so the uniform minimum spend is 28.50. For PE, pupils need the school top, shorts and reversible sports shirt, bringing the total to 59. | jpimedia

12. Corby Technical School, minimum spend 46.20
Corby Technical School has a blazer and tie that need to be bought from their suppliers. The old style blazer was 15, whereas the new blazer is between 28 to 34. For PE kit, the school say pupils need a sports jumper with logo and the polo top with logo. We couldn't see the jumper on the supplier website so it's not in our minimum spend total, but the top will cost 13.50 to 16.50. | jpimedia
