Rushden drug factory arrest and conviction after neighbours smelt cannabis
A man who had adapted a terraced house in Rushden to grow cannabis has been jailed for 18 months.
Residents in Cromwell Road, Rushden, had complained to police about the strong smell of cannabis coming from the terraced house.
Last month, officers from the Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Policing Team discovered that the house had been adapted to cultivate the drug.
The team arrested a man from London at the scene on October 3 and seized 274 mature cannabis plants which were crammed into five rooms in the house.
Ardit Abduramani, 24, pleaded guilty to producing a controlled Class B drug and was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.
