Fans of cinema will be able to get their fill of the silver screen with a drive-in experience at one of the county's most iconic and historic backdrops.

Corby s Rockingham Castle will host a three-day movie bonanza with classic family-friendly films all to be viewed from the comfort of a car on May Bank Holiday weekend - Saturday, May 1, to Monday, May 3.

The Covid compliant event will be held within the government restrictions on social distancing, with food and drink available on a click and collect basis.

A spokesman for Fleckney Group organisers of The Big Family Drive-in Cinema said: "There’s no need to get out of your car at all during the screening if you don’t want to.

"We will have large walkways throughout the site so should you need to visit the toilet facilities or collect your food, you will be able to do so without coming into close contact with anyone else.

"You’ll have your own wireless speaker system that sits on your dashboard, which will be properly sanitised between uses.

"This speaker will not only deliver high quality audio directly to you, but it also means you don’t have to use your car’s radio for the screening, meaning no need to run your engine and no risk of flat car batteries.

"We will also be broadcasting the audio over the PA system for those that wish to sit outside their vehicles."

On the bill will be big family classics including Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Grease and Toy Story 3.

Although guests can bring their own picnics, hot and cold snacks and refreshments can be bought on site will be done so via an order and collect style system from menus that will be available to view beforehand.

Drinks will be available from an outdoor bar.

The toilets will be individual units which will be spaced a minimum of 2m apart. They will be cleaned and sanitised regularly, and there will be ample hand sanitising facilities available.

Entry to the site is £25 per car with VIP entry £35 - plus a £2 booking fee. A VIP ticket guarantees a spot closer to the screen in a reserved area and a waiter service.
