Ribbon display at Corby Library to support families during Baby Loss Awareness Week

A ribbon remembrance display will be at Corby Library to support families during Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Baby Loss Awareness Week runs from today (October 9) to October 15.

It is an annual event which brings together bereaved parents, families and friends across the UK to remember babies who have died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth and in infancy.

It also aims to raise awareness of the impact of baby loss and the importance of support services.

Lauren Trevillyan is holding a ribbon remembrance display in Corby Library throughout the week.

She told the Northants Telegraph: “Anyone impacted by baby loss is invited to place a ribbon on the wall.

"Last year the display sparked meaningful conversations within the community and gave families an opportunity to acknowledge their loss or losses.

"Some ribbons were placed in memory of babies born more than 50 years ago, showing just how many families continue to carry this grief quietly.”

Lauren started organising the display last year as she wanted to create something in Corby to mark the week.

She said: “Creating this space has given families a chance to come together, remember and feel seen within their own community.”
