Red Arrows to fly over Northamptonshire and the Nene Valley today so eyes to the skies

The iconic Red Arrows are due to fly over Northamptonshire and the Nene Valley today (Friday, May 29).

World-famous for their aerobatic displays of the Royal Air Force (RAF), the team fly distinctively bright red BAE Hawk T1 fast-jets.

But those lucky enough to see the RAF flyers will not see their iconic red, white, and blue smoke trails, as they pass over the county.

The Red Arrows are over Northamptonshire on a transit route from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire to Exeter.

It is estimated the precision team will approximately pass over the Higham Ferrers-Irthlingborough area just after 2pm.

Predicated routes and flight paths are subject to change with short-notice.

The Red Arrows are scheduled to appear in Northamptonshire on Saturday, June 6, for the Gassed on Track event. The aerobatic display is expected to take place between 3.25pm and 4.05pm at the Silverstone Circuit.

They are also expected to return for a flypast in July as part of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone in July.
