Raunds Women's Institute receives £300 cash grant from council to help keep community 'connected'
A £300 grant has been handed to the Raunds Women's Institute (WI) by the deputy mayor of Raunds to help the group continue to grow.
The cash sum has been granted to the WI to help it continue its monthly program by securing guest speakers, offering a diverse range of educational and entertaining presentations to members.
It is hoped the funding will help provide greater value to its current members, while encouraging new membership.
Cllr Paul Byrne was ‘delighted’ to present the grant to members of the group.

He said: "I am delighted that the town council has given this grant the Raunds Women's Institute. The Wi plays a vital role in bringing people together and we are delighted to support their efforts.
"Investing in groups like the Raunds WI helps to keep our community connected."
The Raunds WI meets at Saxon Hall on every second Thursday of the month.
