The private hospital, run by Ramsay Health Care, has made arrangements to deliver care for KGH patients including trauma, medical and cancer cases.

Hospital director David Munt said: “Woodland Hospital and Kettering General Hospital have a long-standing relationship and this partnership is even more important as we stand together as one team to face this pandemic."

The private hospital has also deployed seven members of their own clinical team to the NHS frontline to support the trust's critical care teams.

More are expected to follow in the coming weeks.

KGH director of strategy Polly Grimmett said: “Despite the current pandemic, it is essential we continue to provide treatment and care for patients with other urgent healthcare needs.

"We are delighted to work with our local partner Woodland Hospital to ensure all local patients get the care they need."
