A Post Office service will be restored to Brigstock later this week with a new outreach service at the village hall.

The Bridge Street hall will host the service every Monday, from 10am to 12 noon, from July 5.

The service will be provided by the postmaster for Thrapston.

To accommodate the restoration of the outreach service in Brigstock, there also will be some changes to the current service at Kings Cliffe.

The new opening hours are on a Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm.

Allison Wallace, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring an outreach service for Brigstock as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.

"We thank the Postmaster for Thrapston for providing this service.”

EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this story said the service would be provided between 2pm and 4pm every Friday, from June 25. This was based on information provided by the Post Office, who have since advised that the re-opening date and operating times have been changed.
