A fortnight into the UK's coronavirus lockdown, and the county's first test of whether people have been heeding government advice to only go out for excercise took place as warm spring sunshine bathed Northamptonshire yesterday (Sunday, April 5).

Usually a magnet for people looking to enjoy the great outdoors and family fun attractions, visitors to Wicksteed Park were few and far between.

A spokesman for Wicksteed Park said: “We are pleased that people are acting sensibly and using the park in the correct manner during what is a very difficult time for everyone.

“We would urge people to continue to follow government advice on social distancing and would like to thank people for their continued loyalty and support.”
