Police officers attacked by man armed with chair leg in village near Kettering

The incident in Wellingborough Road took place between 2am and 3am on Friday (March 20) when two police officers were attacked with a chair leg.

It is believed the officers did not suffer any ‘serious injuries’.

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police officers come to work every day to help people and protect their communities, and assaults on them as they do their job are completely unacceptable.”

A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further inquiries.
