Police found no signs of damage in Wollaston streets where residents had reported suspicious behaviour around water mains and manhole covers.

In a post widely shared on social media today (Saturday), Wollaston residents were suspicious that a van was tampering with water mains in Red Hill Crescent and Priory Road.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said officers had visited the scene to investigate suspicious circumstances around manhole covers and water mains.

The spokesman said: "Officers found no damage caused to any street furniture."
