Located in the Market Place in what was Mister Ray’s then Wildwood, Lucky Chucks will officially open its doors after a VIP launch, bringing what it describes as a ‘fresh take’ on pizza and games to the town.

Jack Trend, one of the directors behind the project, said: “The venue combines classic amusements with modern social gaming in a space built for everything from casual drop-ins to celebrations and larger bookings.

“Inside, visitors can expect a broad mix of attractions, including retro arcade games and pinball machines, as well as interactive mini golf, shuffleboard, neon beer pong, augmented reality darts and American pool tables."

The venue has been designed to create an all-in-one destination where people can eat, drink and play, with enough variety to suit different ages and occasions.

Food will be centred around XL 20-inch pizza pies, served by the slice or as a whole, alongside a line-up of sides, dips, salads and desserts.

Guests will be able to choose from the menu filled with ‘playful names and bold flavours’, with slices starting at around £4. Options include Dead Cert, a classic Margarita pizza, Honey Trap, which combines pepperoni, ’nduja, jalapeños and hot honey for those who like a bit of heat and a Ponzi Scheme that has a creamy vodka sauce and fennel sausage.

There is a strong focus on dietary options, including a strong vegan range featuring plant-based pizza choices and gluten-free pizzas are also available, offering an option for guests with dietary requirements without losing the sense of a proper pizza night out.

Lucky Chuck’s has also placed a heavy emphasis on its interior and atmosphere, with design details intended to feel both playful and stylish. One of its stand-out features is a feature wall using signed Shepard Fairey lithograph prints, shipped over from Los Angeles, bringing a different feel to the space alongside the neon and games.

Ahead of the launch, Lucky Chuck’s is encouraging people to sign up to its website. The venue says subscribers will receive the booking link before it goes public, giving early access to reservations for tables and activities.

Subscribers will also be eligible for a birthday giveaway, with Lucky Chuck’s offering free pizza every year on a customer’s birthday as part of its rewards.

The grand opening takes place on Saturday, January 17 at midday.
