The pre-match atmosphere with sing-a-long football songs provided a balm to calm the nerves.

As punters tucked into pizzas and beers, fans cheered on the team encouraging them every kick of the ball.

After the second half break-through with Anthony Gordon's goal, there were absolute scenes as beer flew in the air and strangers hugged.

But sadly, Argentina did what they do and scored two – much to the despair of the watching crowd.
