PICTURE SPECIAL Look how generous you have been down the years to the Northants Telegraph Toy Appeal

Readers have always supported Mother Christmas Jeanette

Over the years, the wonderful readers of the Northamptonshire Telegraph have ensured a magical Christmas for many hundreds of children by donating presents to our toy appeal.

Thousands of gifts have been handed over, wrapped and delivered to children living in care, vulnerable youngsters and from the most disadvantaged backgrounds.

In 2002, Jeanette Walsh, a social worker from the children and young people’s services, took on the appeal on behalf of the looked-after young people in Northamptonshire.

Nearly two decades later, Jeanette is collecting again but this time with an online donations page. Using the charity account of The Faraway Children's Charity to ensure transparency, the money donated will be used by Jeanette to purchase gifts and toys to suit all the babies, children and young people in the most need in the county.

Here's a look back at the appeal down the years.

Thanks to your generosity we hope to help children again and put a smile on their faces.
