Wellingborough Eco Group is hosting its first ever ‘Green Festival’ which is set to include local traders, live music and ‘spectacular street food’, with free entry for all attendees.

The Green Festival, which will take place from 10am until 4pm on Sunday, September 8 at the Eco Hub in Glamis Hall, is part of the Nene Valley Festival, a nine-day event that celebrates the natural and historic assets of Northamptonshire.

A Wellingborough Eco Group spokesman said: "Last year’s Green Village Fete was a huge success, this year there will be a packed programme of fun stuff from Wellingborough Swap Shop at ECO HUB and to the food and fun stalls across the outside spaces of Glamis Hall.

"We’ll have music throughout the day.”

The Eco Hub opened in September 2022, having celebrated its second birthday on Sunday, starting with its Tuesday Tidy Ups, then expanding to include the Wellingborough Swap Shop, and today hosts plenty of activities all-year-round. The Green Festival is another project on the Hub’s already busy schedule, and organisers believe ‘it could just be the party of the year.’
