'No knife present' at scene of incident involving Kettering gym owner Aarron 'Lambo' Lambert, say police

Police officers are re-appealing for information following an incident in Northfield Avenue, Kettering that Kettering gym owner Aarron ‘Lambo’ Lambert claims to have been involved with.

The incident happened on Tuesday, November 18, between 7.05pm and 7.50pm when several men wrestled another man to the ground near the Rothwell Road roundabout.

Aarron ‘Lambo’ Lambert – who runs Lambos Gym in Kettering – took to social media multiple times last week claiming he had been attacked with a ‘shank’ and disarmed a man.

He said: “If you’re gonna attack someone with something sharp, then make sure you don’t miss.”

But Northants Police tonight said there was ‘no knife present at the scene’.

Detective Sergeant Katy Wilson said: “We appreciate that this incident has caused concern among the local community however, after a full review, we can confirm that there was no knife present at the scene. We hope this offers reassurance to members of the public.”

Lambert shared a video of him sitting on a man in the gutter near the railings close to the Rothwell Road railway bridge.

Officers investigating the incident are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Please quote incident number 25000677238 when passing on any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Northants Police have clarified this evening that it’s believed there was a ‘screwdriver’ on the scene.

An amended statement said: “Following a number of enquiries, including a review of local CCTV, detectives have been able to establish that the object originally believed to be a knife was a screwdriver, and are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.”
