New merchant's in Corby ready to build up customer base

A new builder's merchants in Corby has opened its doors to customers and created 16 jobs at the new store.

MKM Building Supplies opened its 15,000 sq. ft. branch based at Centrix Business Park, Furnace Way off Phoenix Parkway.

The 75th store that is part of a national chain, is designed to be a one-stop shop for both building trade and retail customers.

MKM Corby is headed-up by two branch directors, Mick Mattison and Simon Loveridge. They are opening for business, after only one week delay due to lockdown from their original plans.

Mick, who has been in the industry for 30 years said: "It's our ambition to make MKM Corby the number one merchant of choice in the surrounding area for both trade and public.

"In my experience a successful formula to creating a thriving building merchant is when expertise, knowledge and customer service is ingrained in the culture, and at MKM it certainly is.

"We are looking forward to helping our customers create their dream homes, and as a local team we are also committed to supporting our community and will be working closely with charities to do our bit."

MKM Corby will showcase a wide range of building essentials including, plumbing and heating, electrical, drainage, roofing, timber, plaster and plasterboard, doors, ironmongery and joinery.

The branch will also feature a kitchen and bathroom showroom and landscaping display, offering free designs and consultations to help customers get their projects off to a great start.

The branch also offers a building takeoff service, brick matching and free local delivery.

Co-director Simon Loveridge, who brings 38 years expertise to the role, said: "For too long there has been a perception the builders merchants are not generally a place for the public, however it is our mission to change that - our new branch is purpose built and easy to navigate, our team is highly experienced and customer service is of paramount importance to us all.
