New florist finds roots in Irthlingborough High Street as mayor cuts ribbon at grand opening
A local hairdresser has opened The Wild Stem in Irthlingborough’s High Street, hoping to bring a splash of colour to the town.
Terri Freeman, the woman behind The Wild Stem, re-trained as a florist after a 15-year career in hairdressing.
The mum of two says she ‘always had a passion’ for floristry, and so after gaining the necessary qualifications, took a chance in the industry. The shop, which was formerly Dolled and Dapper Salon, has been transformed into a florist and workshop, offering seasonal flowers for events such as weddings, funerals, and corporate events, which are locally grown and delivered nationwide.
Terri said: “This is my passion.

"We’re different, we’re not your traditional florist, we’re modern, but can do classic. People who have ordered the bouquets have told us they’ve never seen anything like it, which is really good.
"When I’m passionate about something, I don’t stop.
"Everything is ready. I’m a bit nervous but we just need to our online presence and get out there.”
The business opened at a spot in Billing Garden Village, but Terri and her husband Jim knew it was time to bring the business to Irthlingborough, and so this morning (February 7), officially opened the shop.
While The Wild Stem is still in its early stages and continuing to grow, Terri hopes to be open Tuesday through to Sunday from 10am until 4pm, though this may change as the owners adapt to life in the town.
The shop is currently accepting pre-orders for Valentine’s Day, and those who are keen to book ahead should do so by contacting the shop on 07454 926601.
