Motorcyclist dies after crash near Oundle

A 28-year-old motorcyclist has died after a collision with a car on the A427 between Oundle and Lower Benefield.

The incident took place at around 2pm on Saturday (February 20) when the rider's white Yamaha R125 motorcycle crashed with a red Mini Cooper. The motorcyclist died at the scene.

Northamptonshire Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the bike or the car involved to come forward.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the A427 between Oundle and Lower Benefield.

"The incident happened on Saturday, February 20, at about 2pm, when a white Yamaha R125 motorcycle travelling from Oundle towards Lower Benefield was in collision with a red Mini Cooper travelling in the opposite direction.

"As a result of the collision, the motorcycle rider – a 28-year-old man – sadly died at the scene."

Police officers would like anyone with any information or dashcam footage just prior to the collision or of the incident itself, to contact them.
