There will be restrictions to visiting times from today (Wednesday, March 17), Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has announced.

The measure is part of the attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

At Cransley Hospice in Kettering, only two visitors will be allowed to visit between 2pm and 4pm every day.

The trust said: "We would encourage visiting to be limited to next of kin and immediate family only.

"Children under the age of 16 are advised not to visit unless considered essential by the patient or their next of kin."

Corby Community Hospital and Isebrook Hospital in Wellingborough are not allowing any visitors to inpatient wards except for those patients who are there for end of life care.

For those receiving end of life care, there is a maximum of two people at any one time. You can speak to the ward for further details.

At St Mary's Hospital, Kettering, there are no visitors currently allowed on the adult mental health wards.

The trust said: "Thank you for your support and cooperation."
