Medals stolen from elderly man in Wellingborough burglary

Witnesses are being sought after a pair of medals were stolen during a distraction burglary in Vicarage Road, Wellingborough.

At about 5.30pm on Wednesday, December 9, three men entered the address and informed the elderly resident that they were police officers. After they left the man discovered his medals had been stolen.

The medals had been awarded to the man to mark the Queen’s Silver and Golden Jubilee, and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered such items for sale in unusual circumstances.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Vicarage Road on the afternoon or early evening of Wednesday, December 9.
