Man charged with criminal damage after Thrapston war memorial incident
The town's 'silent soldier' memorial was damaged beyond repair in November

A man has been charged with criminal damage following an incident in Thrapston last month.Police said that they would not currently be naming the 24-year-old man, from Northampton, who will appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 22, 2021.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "A silent soldier who stood over Thrapston’s war memorial in Oundle Road, was destroyed beyond repair during the incident which took place overnight between Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13."
