Lucky Chuck's opening date revealed as 1,112 people apply for Kettering competitive socialising town centre venue roles
The opening date for a much-anticipated Kettering competitive socialising pizza venue Lucky Chuck’s has been revealed.
Lucky Chuck’s, Kettering's self-styled ‘infamous’ leisure lounge has taken delivery of its first games machines at the venue in Market Place.
As well as refurbishing the former department-store-turned-restaurant, the three founders have appointed two managers to oversee further recruitment.
Preparing for the January 17 opening night are head chef Jonno Page – who grew up in Kettering – and general manager Sam Underwood.

Jonno said: “I’m looking forward to coming back to my hometown but the thing I’m looking most forward to is focussing on getting the best pizzas in Kettering, developing the dough for the opening night."
With a menu providing the ‘indoor street food’ in Jonno’s hands, general manager Sam will be bringing his leisure industry expertise from a role at Leicester Racecourse to Kettering.
He said: “The Lucky Chuck’s brand is very exciting, that was the draw for me. People are excited for the venue itself, but I’m so excited to be part of the team. I can’t wait to get it open and deliver on the promise to be the most exciting venue in the area.

"Normally it’s games or food, but this is competitive socialising in equal measures.”
A total of 1,112 people have applied to work at the lounge but only 40 lucky candidates will be appointed.
Lucky Chuck’s founder, Jack Trend, the marketing mastermind behind the brand is looking forward to welcoming the public – and is still hoping to attract Sonia from EastEnders, actress Natalie Cassidy, to the opening night.
Jack added: "When we open, it will have been a year since we first booked an appointment to look at the site, so we are really excited.
“The anticipation from the town has been incredible.”
