Loose Akita reportedly attacking other dogs in Corby

Police were in Newark Drive, Corby, earlier today (Saturday) to deal with a loose Akita dog that was attacking other dogs.

A resident said there were a few police cars in the area looking for the Aktia.

He said an officer said there had been reports of the Akita attacking other dogs.

Northamptonshire Police's control room said at the time that the incident was being dealt with. Residents have since said the dog was taken by police.

One dog is known to be in the care of vets after being injured by the Akita.

Akitas are large and powerful dogs that originate from Japan.
