Claire Marsh, who co-runs the group with Sam Holdsworth, said: "The girls love it and they are really getting involved. We worked in teams and it only took us two and a half hours to plant the 420 trees. We did some research and found the Woodland Trust free trees initiative.

"The girls will be able to look keep an eye on the trees as they are growing up. Now we've planted the trees, in 20 years or so years time it will continue the wood towards Corby.

"We have asked if it could be called Brownie Wood which would be a real legacy for the girls."

The 34 volunteers planted the saplings of oak, rowan crab apple, willow holly and birch on land owned by JME Civils and Little Stanion Farm Management.
