With the next being held on October 22, the event runs fortnightly on Saturday mornings from 10am to midday.

The activity is aimed at youngsters aged five to 12 with the hope of developing their interests in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The aim is for youngsters to adhere to a pre-set task, including the likes of designing and building a floatable boat or a marble maze, all exclusively with Lego and using a random selection of parts at hand.

The next challenge will be held just in time for the autumn half-term, and will be available free of charge for those looking for a fun, creative way to spend the weekend.

More information can be found at northamptonshire.gov.uk, or by visiting the library in Newton Road, Rushden.
