The event, run by the Brownlee Foundation in partnership with Tata, sees children swimming, running and biking in a mini-triathlon at Corby Swimming Pool.
More than 1,200 children aged seven to eleven from more than 20 schools across North Northamptonshire have signed up to take part.
The fun-filled day is designed to encourage young people to get active and enjoy sport with participants cheered on their way by volunteers – and everyone crossing the line gets a medal.
Kids of Steel is delivered by the Brownlee Foundation in partnership with Tata Steel UK, Runtech and Pho3nix Kids, and aims to inspire children of all abilities to lead active lifestyles through sport and physical activity.
Alistair Brownlee from the Brownlee Foundation said: “Together, our goal is to ensure every child enjoys their experience and goes home with a big smile on their face.”
