Kettering snow globe design wins local MP's Christmas card competition
A nine-year-old girl’s snow globe design has been crowned as the winner of Kettering MP Rosie Wrighting’s Christmas card competition.
Amélie Wicks’ entry was chosen to be the MP’s official Christmas card after she asked local children to send her their designs on the theme ‘Christmas where they live’.
The Brambleside Primary School pupil decided to draw Kettering’s Christmas lights switch-on in a snow globe Market Place, complete with Lucky Chuck’s, The Kino Lounge and St Peter and St Paul Church’s spire.
Ms Wrighting said: “I had so many wonderful entries from children across the constituency with some really creative designs and picking a winner was a really tough job.

“Thank you to everyone who took part and congratulations to Amélie. It was an absolute pleasure to visit her at school and show her the printed card.”
Complete with a festive message from the MP, and Amélie’s winning design is now on the front of cards being sent to Ms Wrighting’s colleagues, friends and local businesses.
Ms Wrighting visited Amélie at her school on Friday (December 12) to present her with the card, which has her name on the inside, as well as a prize for winning the competition.
Amélie said: “I like drawing, the Christmas card was fun to do and I drew my home town.
“I was really excited to hear my card had won the competition! I never thought I’d win.”
